Complete Guide to Breachstones: Farming, Mechanics, and Rewards

What Are Breachstones?

Breachstones are special currency items crafted by combining 300 Breach Splinters. These splinters drop from Breach encounters-special map events where players enter a Breach realm filled with waves of monsters. Using a Breachstone in the Realmgate opens portals to the pinnacle Breach boss fight against Xesht, We That Are One.

How to Farm Breach Splinters Efficiently

  • Find Maps with Breach Encounters: Look for maps marked with the Breach Hand icon on the Atlas. These maps contain Breach portals that lead to the Breach realm.

  • Clear Breach Waves Quickly: Upon entering a Breach, waves of monsters spawn continuously. Defeating monsters extends the encounter duration and spawns more enemies, increasing loot drops and Breach Splinter yield.

  • Collect Breach Hands: Throughout the Breach, Clasped Hands appear on the ground. Interacting with these grants additional loot and splinters, so prioritize picking them up while managing monster waves.

  • Use AoE Builds: Skills with strong area damage like Lightning Arrow or Spark, combined with supports such as Pierce, Chain, and Fork, help clear monsters quickly and keep the Breach open longer for more drops.

  • Optimize Atlas and Map Mods: Invest in Atlas passive nodes that boost Breach Splinter drop rates and monster density. Biomes like Grass, combined with nodes like Local Knowledge, increase currency drops, making farming more profitable.

  • Defensive Layers: Since Breach monsters swarm aggressively, build solid defenses-capped elemental resistances, high life or energy shield, and chaos immunity (Chaos Inoculation) help survival.

  • Use Buffs: Activate buffs like Sigil of Power immediately after entering the Breach to boost damage and clear waves faster.

Mechanics of the Breach Encounter

The Breach realm is a large, open area where monsters continuously spawn from the Breach portal. The encounter timer extends with each monster killed, and the goal is to keep the timer active by clearing monsters efficiently until you can gather enough loot and splinters.

Using Breachstones and Facing Xesht

Once you have 300 Breach Splinters, craft a Breachstone. Place it into the Realmgate near your Atlas starting area to open portals to the Twisted Domain, where you fight Xesht, the pinnacle Breach boss.

Xesht has multiple difficulty tiers, unlocked by defeating him repeatedly. He has high health and resists elemental damage but is vulnerable to physical and chaos damage. His attacks are telegraphed, allowing skilled players to dodge and counterattack.

Key tips for fighting Xesht include:

  • Stay near the edge of the Breach circle to safely attack monsters and avoid damage.

  • Use chain, fork, and spread mechanics to clear groups quickly.

  • Learn Xesht’s attack patterns and time your dodges carefully.

  • Bring healing flasks and buffs to sustain through the fight.

Rewards from Breach Farming and Xesht

Breach encounters drop valuable loot such as:

  • Catalysts: Used to improve the quality of rings and amulets.

  • Breach Rings and Unique Items: Exclusive gear only obtainable through Breach.

  • Currency Items: Including Divine Orbs, Exalted Orbs, and other crafting materials.

  • Breach Atlas Passive Points: Awarded by defeating Xesht, allowing you to invest in powerful bonuses.

  • Otherworldly Books of Knowledge: Grant passive skill points specific to the Breach Atlas tree.

Farming Breaches and defeating Xesht is considered one of the most profitable endgame activities, combining steady currency income with unique rewards.

In summary, to farm and use Breachstones efficiently:

  • Run maps with Breach encounters and optimize your build for fast AoE clear and survivability.

  • Collect Breach Splinters and hands to craft Breachstones.

  • Use Breachstones to challenge Xesht, mastering his mechanics for the best rewards.

  • Invest in Breach Atlas passives to enhance farming efficiency and rewards.
